Captivating Uusimaa Day in May!

On this Day, we invite you to enjoy culture, meetings and local nature together. A festive spring day all around our own Region was arranged for the first time on Tuesday 21 May 2024.

Festive Spring for All on 21 May

Watch the recording of the spring celebration!

The spring celebration during the Uusimaa Day is offering you regional music and culture. Get together with family and friends to watch the celebration broadcast live from Lohja from 19 o’clock onwards. The event is open for everyone in three languages and is interpreted in Finnish Sign Language.

Spring Excursion for Children on 21 May

Join our spring excursion into nature!

Let’s step into local nature and spot the nature symbols of our Region: the flower, the animals and overall, any signs of spring. We challenge local day care centres and primary schools to arrange these excursions. You can print the Nature Bingo and take it with you on your own family trip.

Spring coffee for adults 21 may

Get together for a cup of coffee!

Let’s meet, enjoy each other’s company together with something warm to make us feel good on this Spring Day! We challenge municipalities, organisations, parishes and companies to arrange coffee sessions. You can also enjoy your coffee at home, inviting your family and friends – and why not the neighbours, as well.

Photo Challenge for Everyone (young and old) until 21 May

Grab a photo challenge!

Take a photo of a place you find beautiful, interesting or important in our Region and share it with the hashtag #uusimaapäivä. We challenge the grades 7-9 in every comprehensive school and the upper secondary level, but everyone can participate. Find out more and win the Museum Card for yourself.

Libraries calling on Uusimaa Day 21 May

Can you hear a library calling?

On the Uusimaa Day, learn about literature and culture inspired by your own Region. We challenge all regional libraries to participate.
