Memes, music and nature close by – Enjoy the Uusimaa Day with us on 15 May

On this Day, we invite you for the second time to enjoy culture, meetings and local nature together. Pick out your favourite among the event ideas and take part at the concert in Vantaa, where Juha Tapio is the main artist. You can also watch the streaming on this particular Thursday, 15 May.
− This Day is a good way to discover all the good in our Region and pay forward it all in your own neighbourhood, Ms Katriina Rosavaara at the Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council, says.
Meme School and other ideas for spring events
Our event challenges are meant for participants of all ages. By using material made for events, you can easily arrange one of your own. We have challenged regional day care centres, schools, associations and libraries to arrange events on this Day.
- Children’s spring excursions are hunts for the regional natural symbols and other signs.
- Adults drink coffee together, to celebrate this festive day of spring.
- Libraries are introducing regional literature and culture.
Young people can dive into the world of memes and make one of their own with an Uusimaa theme. The Meme School is aimed at the young ones, and the thematic material has been planned to be useful for teachers, as well.
