International Peer Review: Draft Regional Programme aligns with EU goals

The Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council organised an international peer review at the beginning of October together with the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform. European regional development experts analysed the draft Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Programme for 2026–2029 and provided recommendations for its development and implementation.

Helsinki-Uusimaa RDI road map steps to become European forerunner in innovation

Helsinki-Uusimaa has set a goal to become the most innovative region in Europe by 2030. Currently, nearly 50 per cent of the research and development expenses in Finland can be found in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Region and research, development, and innovation activities (RDI) make up about 3,9 per cent of the regional gross domestic product. The aim is to increase these investments to five percent of the regional gross domestic product.

Helsinki-Uusimaa Circular Valley really kicking off

Environmentally smart Helsinki-Uusimaa and Successful Helsinki-Uusimaa are two of the three priorities of the Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Programme. Important steps towards these goals are now being taken, as the regional actors of circular economy are about to use new ways to meet with the challenges of sustainable and responsible production, and consumption.

First Call for Central Baltic Programme 2021–2027 now open

The first call for the new programme period is open from the 10th of February until 12pm (GMT+2) on the 31st of March 2022. During the programme period 2021–2027, there is 118 million euros of funding available from the European Regional Development Fund.
